Twelve wagons of a goods train derailed on Tuesday between Chiplun and Kamathe section of the Konkan Railway, disrupting train movement on the route.

The derailment occurred at 7.45 am and accident relief trains and senior Konkan Railway officials have rushed to the accident spot for an early clearance of the traffic, the Konkan Railway said in a statement.
Passenger carrying trains are likely to be regulated/ diverted/ cancelled or trans-shipment would be arranged, it said. Further details are awaited.
