Loco Running Staff of Bangalore division is organized a Mass DHARNA in front of Divisional Railway Manager’s office , Bangalore  on 30.01.14, Thursday from 10 hrs to 14 hrs.
The Dharna was welcomed by Sri. D Rajkumar and presided by Sri P. Anil Srinivasa Rao. Inaugurated by Sri VJK Nair, CITU Karnataka State President. He explained about the issues of Railway employees in particular and working class in general. He extend the full support of CITU for the struggle of Loco Running Staff.

Loco running staff from the Bangalore division of the South Western Railways protested in large numbers outside the office of the divisional railway manager demanding attention to a number of issues ranging from poor working conditions to the lack of implementation of strict working hours resulting in loco pilots often doing over time.

Kharge reviews Safety Measures on Trains

New Delhi: After two fire incidents in trains killed 35 passengers, Railway Minister Mallikarjun Kharge has directed audit of each passenger rake and ensuring of best quality fire retardant material to check such mishaps.

Nine railwaymen have been suspended in connection with the assault of a divisional electrical engineer at the electrical loco shed in Royapuram on Tuesday.
This is the second incident within a month of a supervisory officer being roughed up by subordinates owing allegiance to the Southern Railway Mazdoor Union (SRMU), a senior railway official said.

Cabinet approves setting up of authority to advise on rail fares

Historic Milestone: CR converts 1500 Volt DC into 25000 Volt AC Traction System

Mumbai:  The historic milestone has been achieved by Central Railway with the conversion from 1500 Volt d.c. to 25000 Volt a.c. traction system over Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) to Thane (exclusive) via 5th & 6th line & Thane (exclusive) to Kalyam. This smooth and major transition has been achieved without traffic block and without any disruption or inconvenience to the travelling public. Out of total project cost of Rs. 1299.91 crore, the cost of this portion of conversion work is Rs. 147.70 crore.

Fire in train in AP still a Mystery
