South Western Railway and JSW Steel Limited, Toranagallu have signed long-term tariff contract agreement for a period of three years by which Railways will retain the existing traffic of JSW Steel Limited, Toranagallu besides encouraging them to load incremental traffic on cumulative basis during the contract period and also strive to divert the traffic from road to rail thereby increase the rail coefficient.

K Shivaprasad, Chief Commercial Manager of South Western Railway and Susheel Nowal, Vice President of JSW Steel signed the MOU today in presence of AK Gupta, General Manager and BB Singh, Additional General Manager, G J Prasad, Chief Operations Manager and AK Singh, Principal Finance Advisor of South Western Railway.

JSW Steel, Toranagallu will be eligible for rebate accrued in a year under this scheme as refund within 45 days after completion of each year for the traffic offered from all the three plants viz, JSW Steel Ltd, Toranagallu, (JSWT/SWR), JSW Steel, Dolvi (JSWD/CR) and JSW steel, Salem (MCSI/SR).
