Comrade,

There are various reports in the media regarding the 7th CPC especially regarding the minimum wage and fitment formula. Even many newspaper’s and Z news have published the news. Please do not trust any messages of the media. These messages are to divert our attention from main struggle.

The Staff side leader Com Shiva Gopal Misharji had letter a letter to the Hon’ble Prime Minister regarding the non settlement of the 7th CPC issues , He had submitted the charter of demands along with a request for personal intervention of the Hon’ble Prime Minister in resolving the 7th CPC issues , which include minimum wage of Rs 26,000/- and fitment formula of 3.71and other 10 demands. The Central Government employees are forced to go on indefinite strike from 11th July if the demands of the Central Government employees are accepted.

It is understood that based on the letter of the Staff side leader Com Shiva Gopal Misharji , the Hon’ble Prime Minister had discussions with the Hon’ble Finance Minister and the Cabinet Secretary. The gists of the discussions are not known.

The reports in the media suggest that the empowered committee of Secretaries headed by the Cabinet Secretary has approved the minimum wage of Rs 23,500/- and maximum wage of Rs 3, 25,000 and fitment formula of 2.90. This works out to 30% wage hike excluding allowances. Reports also suggest that the empowered committee of secretaries headed by the Cabinet Secretary will submit its report to the Finance Minister by end of next week. However we cannot believe on such reports as the Central Government has not communicated anything on the demands of the Central Government employees to the staff side leaders.

Even if these reports published are true, this falls short of the aspiration of the Central Government employees as the earlier pay commissions have granted more than 50% wage hike. The Staff side demand is wage hike of 65% against this 30% wage hike is proposed by the empowered committee of secretaries headed by the Cabinet Secretary, more over the at the higher level the 60% wage hike is proposed as in the case of Cabinet Secretary pay scale the increase is from Rs 90,000/- to Rs 3,25,000 . Also the juniors are getting better wage hike than the persons who have put more service. Hence the pay commissions after pay commissions are giving more benefit to newly joined persons than who have put valuable service.

Comrades, prepare for strike , this will give us more benefit. Please do not trust any messages of the media. These messages are to divert us from main struggle. Hold General Body meeting/gate meetings in each and every office and explain the demands.

Comradely yours

(P.S.Prasad)  General Secretary
