SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT


South Central Railway General Manager Ravindra Gupta accompanied by Divisional Railway Manager Aruna Singh and other officials inspecting Kacheguda railway station in Hyderabad on Thursday.

As a part of the visit he convened a meeting of senior officers and discussed the developmental plans for Kacheguda that were being contemplated.

General Manager-South Central Railway, Ravindra Gupta, who assumed charge recently, went on a familiarisation visit to Kacheguda railway station, inspecting passenger amenities, the circulating area, enquiry counters, booking office, waiting halls, security surveillance systems, cleanliness and quality of bed linen.

As a part of the visit he convened a meeting of senior officers and discussed the developmental plans for Kacheguda that were being contemplated.

He visited the Rail Heritage Museum and wanted the Divisional Railway Manager Aruna Singh and Additional DRM B.S.K. Rajkumar, to make it more attractive to the general public and also motivate school students to visit it.

Later, he conducted a window-trailing inspection of Kacheguda – Mahboobnagar section, covering about 200 km through a special inspection car with a full window that shows the entire track behind the train.

He ascertained track parameters and conditions, checking sectional riding comfort from the officers and instructed Ms. Aruna to explore the possibility of increasing sectional speed to reduce the running time of passenger trains.

Two Suvidha Specials

To clear the extra rush of passengers during the Chhat and Diwali festival, SCR will run two Suvidha Specials Trains between Secunderabad and Patna, via Allahabad, Varanasi. Accordingly, no. 02793 without a pantry car will leave here at 9.40 p.m. on November 13 (Friday) and reach Patna at 8.05 a.m. on Sunday. In the opposite direction, No. 02794 will leave Patna at 5.30 a.m. on Nov. 19 (Thursday) and reach Secunderabad 4.35 a.m. on Saturday.

Health camp held

The Medical Department of SCR organised a Health Awareness Campaign on Breast Cancer at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad on Thursday under the supervision of Chief Health Director Dr. K.H.K. Dora and Additional Chief Medical Director, Dr. Surekha Gajbhiye. They also addressed participants and explained about prevention and detection. Deputy Chief Medical Director, Dr. A.V.S.K. Prasad, gave a talk and through a multi-media presentation explained the risk factors, preventive steps including the importance of self-examination for early diagnosis. Pamphlets detailing the points were distributed to about 300 women employees in different SCR offices who attended.
