Loco pilots will have to undergo active-mode breath-analyser test from Wednesday before boarding trains.
This follows direction given by Southern Railway General Manager Ashok K. Agarwal to loco pilots’ association office bearers who met him at Chennai on Tuesday, after suspension of a loco pilot and assistant loco pilot here on Sunday for refusing to take the test that led to a flash strike. But Mony L., national president of All India Loco Running Staff Association said that loco pilots will do only passive testing until Railway Board ‘clarifies’ on the issue. — Staff Reporter
