Dhulkot (DKT): Over a dozen express and passenger trains running on Kalka-Delhi line were delayed after three bogies of a goods train were derailed between Ambala and Dhulkot stations last night.

The track remained blocked for about six hours and the rail traffic was restored early in the morning.
The loaded goods train was on its way to Chandigarh when the accident occurred. On learning of the incident, higher authorities including the DRM Ambala rushed to the spot and supervised the rescue operations which was completed after more than six hours.
The DRM said the cause of derailment would be confirmed after investigation. However, from the preliminary inquiry it seemed to have occurred due to defect in the track around this point.
