Union Railway Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda on Sunday said that Central government has taken steps to bring in discipline in politics and end corruption in public administration.
Speaking at a felicitation for Sri Mohanadasa Paramahamsa Swamy at Sri Rama Mandira Grounds, Mr Gowda said that the Modi government had geared up its administrative machinery to live up to the expectations of the people who voted the BJP to power. The government has initiated steps to ensure corruption-free services to the public, he said.
Later, he told reporters that suitable positions would be considered for all leaders who worked for the party in the past. Asked whether the government would offer the governor’s posts to former Minister and ex-MP D. B. Chandre Gowda and former Governor Rama Jois, he said the party high command would consider their seniority and give respectable positions in the days ahead.
Mr. Gowda said that he had climbed several steps of the political ladder and had now become the Railway Minister with the encouragement and support of the people, including a few seers in Dakshina Kannada district. On the occasion, he recalled the services of Sri Mohanadasa Paramahamsa Swamy and Padma Bhushan D. Veerendra Heggade to society.
