Due to derailment of a goods train between Sakleshpur Railway Station and Subramanya station on Sunday, the South Western Railway has revised the pattern of numerous train services. Among the trains affected is the Karwar-Mangalore express (Train no. 16524).
A release said that instead of the Karwar-Mangalore and the Kannur-Yesvantpur express being attached at Mangalore; the trains were attached at Kannur itself from where it will be diverted towards Palakkad, Salem and Omallur to Yeswantpur.
Similarly, Yeswantpur-Kannur/ Karwar Express (Train numbers 16517/16523) which left Yeswantpur on Sunday night was diverted via Omallur, Salem, Palakkad and Kannur where coaches will be detached to move towards Karwar, said the release. Meanwhile, due to the derailment of Diva-Sawantwadi passenger train (Train no. 50105) near Roha station in Maharashtra, nearly five trains on the route between Mumbai and Mangalore have been diverted towards Pune and then Madgaon.
