'Major drop in signal failure cases'

ALLAHABAD: Presiding over a meeting of officials of signal and telecommunication department, general manager, NCR, Alok Johri on Friday said signaling is among the most important departments of rail traffic. This is because in the present age, the new technology introduced for managing rail traffic in the country has proved very beneficial. The numbers of incidences of signal failure have come down drastically during last few years. Still, there is need for improvement, he said.

On the occasion, chief signaling and telecommunication officer, Manmohan Garwhal also presented a powerpoint presentation apprising officials about the forthcoming plans and projects. He told NCR senior officials that there has been a 19% decline in incidences of signal failure.
