Due to timely action by the crew members's of Mumbai-Thiruvananthapuram Express a possible train mishap was prevented between Kollam and Mayyanad Railway Stations early today.
According to railway sources, the diver of the train number 16331 Mumbai-Thiruvananthapuram Express reduced the speed of the train when he noticed a concrete block put on the railway track near Eravipuram at about 0130 hrs. Though the train ran over theconcrete block, which was meant to protect the mud near therailway tack, becsaue of the low speed of the train, a possible train tragedy was averted, the sources said. Local police, who started investigation, said the possibility of a sabotage could not be ruled out, as it appeared that the block was put on the track intentionally.
