Soon, Railway Is Making Photo ID Mandatory

Railway is making it mandatory for all its passengers travelling in non-AC  sleeper class to carry identity proof as part of its efforts to check the widespread menace of transferred tickets sold by the brokers.

This is being done to strengthen measures to keep a check on passengers travelling on transferred tickets. In February, the Railway had  made it mandatory for the A/C class people to carry there original I-card with them. At that time the non- Ac was kept apart.
Passengers can carry any of these nine ID proofs  while undertaking  train  journey- voter ID card, Passport, PAN card, Driving Licence,  Photo identity card having serial number issued by the central/state government, students identity card with photograph issued by a recognized school/college, Aadhar card, nationalized bank passbook with photograph and Credit Card issued by bank with laminated photograph.
Soon it will be spread among the people who are travelling in Non A/C through campaign and it will also be printed on the back side of the train  tickets.
