More than a dozen trains remain cancelled due to fog

Delhi:  More than a dozen trains remained cancelled today as dense fog over parts of North India continued to disrupt rail services, leading to delays in arrival and departure of trains from the city.

The North East express to Guwahati, New Delhi-Howrah express, Agra Intercity express and the Jabalpur New Delhi express were cancelled today along with several others as over 30 trains arrived in the city several hours behind schedule.

According to a Northern Railway spokesperson, departure timings of close to 10 trains including the Rajdhanis to Howrah, Sealdah, Patna, were changed owing to the late arrival of corresponding trains.

Last week Railways decided not to run 28 train services from December 1, nearly three weeks ahead of schedule, owing to the early onset of fog this season for the safety of passengers.

Services of 28 trains will remain cancelled and eight trains will be partially cancelled from December 1 this year till January 31 next year as per the decision.
