 Third Death anniversary of Com. SK Dhar

(14.02.1936-15.09.2008)

Com. SK Dhar, Secretary General AILRSA, a class conscious legendary, who strived , through out his life for uniting working class in their fight against exploitation and oppression.

His contribution in bringing about and conducting historical struggles successfully was immense. 1973 August and December, Loco men all India strike, Govt forced to come to an agreement with AILRSA for limiting the working hours to 10 hours.Com Dhar played vital role in bringing together 110  Railway trade unions to a platform of National Coordination Committee for Railway men’s Struggle (NCCRS) in 1974, which led biggest strike ever seen by the country.

He displayed an exemplary leadership during the most turmoil period of severe victimisation inflicted on loco men after the failure of 1981 strike, while many leaders left the organisation. He along with a few leaders fight to bring back victimized workers and maintains the AILRSA alive. After a few years he able to develop AILRSA as a fighting organisation and now AILRSA is able to raise its flag in all the 16 railway zones.
