Production of China's first fully automatic subway trains has been completed, officials announced on Monday.
According to Changchun Railway Vehicles, a subsidiary of China CRRC Corporation, they are scheduled to be put into service later this year, Xinhua news agency reported.
The trains, with a top speed of 80 km per hour, can carry a maximum of 1,262 passengers.
Unmanned subway trains were first introduced in Copenhagen, Denmark and are used in cities including Paris, Barcelona and Nuremberg.
