'Major drop in signal failure cases'



ALLAHABAD: Presiding over a meeting of officials of signal and telecommunication department, general manager, NCR, Alok Johri on Friday said signaling is among the most important departments of rail traffic. This is because in the present age, the new technology introduced for managing rail traffic in the country has proved very beneficial. The numbers of incidences of signal failure have come down drastically during last few years. Still, there is need for improvement, he said.

Chennai:With the festival season round the corner, Southern Railway is hunting for coaches and loco pilots to run special trains. Due to a shortage of loco pilots, passenger train drivers and occasionally goods train drivers are assigned to special trains.

Railway Revenue Earnings up by 10.29 Per Cent During April - August 2013

The total approximate earnings of Indian Railways on originating basis during 1st April to 31st August 2013 were Rs. 54462.79 crore compared to Rs. 49382.94 crore during the same period last year, registering an increase of 10.29 per cent.

Comments about the Report of High Power Committee on HOER:
Hours of Employment Regulations was stipulated by British colonialists to suit the conditions in the year 1931. Even after a lapse of 82 years Indian Railways does not wants to change the entire structure. They are still continued to REPAINT the old dilapidated structure instead of making a new HOER. It is like making up for and aged Auntie with Chudidar and lipstick.
