On Sunday, the Ranchi Railway Division (RRD) of the Indian Railways broke its own record by constructing an underpass in flat 2 hours and 40 minutes on the single line Karra-Govindpur route in Jharkhand.

The RRD had earlier constructed an underpass on the Lodhma-Karra line in 3 hours and 15 minutes.

With a total cost of Rs. 1.10 crore, the underpass was constructed using 100 workers, three cranes, four JCB's, three polken and four tractors.

Although the engineers were given a deadline of four hours, due to collective effort and close coordination the work was completed way ahead of the given deadline.

According to the engineers, the underpass will benefit almost 10,000 people from the nearby areas. In the coming months, RRD plans to build 45 more such underpasses.

It is yet another feat achieved by the Indian Railways, making the country proud. Now, who says Indian Railways lacks efficiency?
