BJP State president and Dharwad MP Pralhad Joshi is
dismayed by the delay in issue of appointment orders to candidates
selected for Group ‘D’ posts in South Western Railway (SWR).
Mr.
Joshi, who met SWR general manager P.K. Saxena here on Wednesday,
raised several issues concerning the railway zone and issues of railway
infrastructure during the meeting.
A press release
issued here on Thursday said Mr. Joshi discussed the memorandum of
demands from the region submitted to the Railway Minister and the
pre-budget proposals pertaining to Karnataka in general and Dharwad Lok
Sabha constituency in particular, with Mr. Saxena.
Various
issues including the introduction of new trains and new railway routes
in the region, Hubli-Ankola new line project, issue of vacant posts in
the railway zone, proposed railway underbridges and overbridges, were
discussed at length, the release said.
Mr. Joshi said
that issues like introduction of new trains from Hubli to various
places, Hubli-Mumbai weekly express, Yashwanthpur-Chandigarh Sampark
Kranti Express, further development of railway stations at Hubli and
Dharwad and other issues were also discussed during the meeting.
He
said he had advised the general manager to submit an official proposal
regarding the railway demands from the region to the Union Railway
Minister to ensure adequate representation of the demands from the
