Upgrading trains to superfast

Southern railway upgrades mail, express to superfast trains from July

MANGALORE: Southern Railways will operate 16 mail/express trains as superfast express in the new time table 2014-15.

Accordingly, Thiruvananthapuram Central - Shalimar (bi-weekly) express will be renumbered 22641 (16323 now), and Thiruvananthapuram Central - Indore junction Ahilyanagari (weekly) express renumbered 22646 (16326) from July 12; Chennai Central - Mangalore Central West Coast express renumbered 22637 (16627); Mangalore Central - Chennai Central West Coast express renumbered 22638 (16628); Chennai Central - Alleppey express renumbered 22639 (16041); Chennai Central - Alleppey express renumbered 22640 (16042); Shalimar - Thiruvananthapuram Central (bi-weekly) express 22642 (16324); Chennai Central - Erode Yercaud express renumbered 22649 (16669); Erode - Chennai Central Yercaud express renumbered 22650 (16670); Chennai Central - Palani express 22651 (16001); Palani - Chennai Central Express 22652 (16002) from July 13; Indore junction - Thiruvananthapuram Central Ahilyanagari (weekly) express renumbered 22645 (16325), Thiruvananthapuram Central - Korba (bi-weekly) express renumbered 22648 (16328) from July 14; Korba - Thiruvananthapuram Central (bi-weekly) express renumbered 22647 (16327) from July 16; and Patna junction - Ernakulam junction (bi-weekly) express renumbered 22644 (16310) from July 17.
