Introduction of train nos. 16565/16566 Yesvantpur-Mangalore Central-Yesvantpur expresses and train nos.06565/06566 Yesvantpur-Mangalore Central-Yesvantpur inaugural specials has been kept in abeyance, according to an official release from Southern Railway’s Palakkad division.
Train nos.06565 Yesvantpur-Mangalore Central special was scheduled to run from Bangalore City station on August 4, the press release said.
It did not mention the reason for deferring the service to north Kerala.
However, sources said that the decision was taken so as not to violate the election code of conduct ahead of the August 21 Lok Sabha by-elections in the Bangalore Rural constituency in which Yesvantpur falls.
