Newspoint Bureau

Jammu Tawi, May 26
Five bogies of two trains-Shalimar Express and Ahmadabad-Jammu Express caught fire under "mysterious" circumstances at Jammu Tawi Railway Station here this evening. No loss to human loss was reported in the incident. Police arrested a suspected youth from Railway Station.

The fire broke out in three bogies of a train at 3:30 pm and two bogies of another train at 5 pm, creating panic at Jammu Railway Station.
While the police officer remained tight-lipped over the incident, the railway authorities linked the twin incidents with militant-activities.
Official sources told Newspoint that three bogies of Shalimar Express caught fire while two bogies of Ahmadabad-Jammu Express were burnt. At least 12 fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the fire. "One of three bogies of Shalimar Express gutted completely in devastating fire while the damage to other two bogies was
partial. Two bogies of Ahmadabad-Jammu Express suffered extensive damage in the fire, the cause for which was yet
to be ascertained by
the security agencies," sources said.
The Deputy Director of Fire Services, Chander Peshan said the fire in both the trains, which were stranded at Jammu Railway Station, broke out under mysterious circumstances and the police was investigating the matter.
He said the one bogie of Shalimar Express was completely gutted, while two were partially burnt. Two bogies of Ahmadabad-Jammu Express were damaged. He said that the property worth Rs 80 lakhs reduced to ashes. The police said that a suspected person was detained and he was being interrogated. It however ruled the possibility of involvement of militants in the incident.
The youth is identified as Ajay Kumar r/o House number 133 Nangloi New Delhi. Sources said that youth seems to be either under the influence of drug of insane. Sources further told that Ajay during interrogation changed his statements regularly.
