Head on Collission at Sealdah:
On 16.04.13 at 13.10hrs Occurred
Head-on-Collision between Up Ec BCN Ld.LOCO No-31023/WAG-9 and dN Diesel
L/E,LOCO No-17982/WDM2 between Palasy-Rejinagar in Sealdah-Lalgola section of
SEALDAH div/ER.
The extreme unfortunate and unbelievable accident as head on collision which
took place in Lalgola single line Token section.
In this mishap Sukumar
Mukherjee/LPG,died who was returning on foot plate of DSL L/E with his
Co-Pilot G.B.Chakraborty.The working LP was A.K.Banerjee and Co-Pilot was
B.N.Ghosh on the same Down DSL L/E.
Electic LPG B.Bairagi and ALP Abhijit Mondal save their life at the last minute
by jumping out side from the Loco before collision but they are seriously injured.
A.K.Banerjee,G.B.Chakraborty,B.N.Ghosh are under ICU of Railway H.Q
Hospital.Once again goes against the boasting of Railways that 'System never
fail', we are fortunate to avoid a worse accident as a speed restriction of
45kmph was in position and those were no passenger train involving civilian
traffic.
AILRSA Central Joint Secretary Mrinal Kanti Seal with other
LPs rushed to the spot and found that both UP & DN Loco Pilots of the train
were given Tokens(Railway members tried to hidden initially).Token no ware 25
& 35 for DN & UP which goes against the system of working. M.K.Seal
with the help of local people shifted the injured LPs to the nearest City
hospital at Baharampur and doctor declared Sukumar Mukherjee is no more.
Sukumar Mukherjee succumbed due to internal Hemorrhage. Such was the shock of collision that DSL L/E after collision go to destructed near about magnitude 450mtrs away from the Electric BCN loaded train. Through reliable sources it has come to our notice that CRS is going to sentenced to 1st responsible to Instrumental failure and 2nd responsible to on duty SMs of both stations.CRS inquiry held on 18th and 19th April.
Its a astonished mater, In this system Block Instrument would never allow two trains in one section and never deliver 2 nos of tokens at a time and train moment Totally depends on both SM's co-operation
