Chennai-Bangalore double-decker AC express train to run from April 25

Chennai, Apr 24 (TruthDive): The much expected air-conditioned Chennai-Bangalore double-decker express train scheduled to run between Chennai and Bangalore will be in operation from April 25.

According to the officials of Southern Railways, Train No. 22625, Chennai Central- Bangalore City Express is scheduled to depart from Chennai Central at 7.25 am and will be reaching the destination at 1.30 pm. The train with a number of air-conditioned chair cars will halt at Arakkonam, Katpadi, Ambur, Jolarpettai, Bangarpet, Krishnarajapuram as well as Bangalore Cantonment.
The Railways also declared saying that advance reservation will be starting from tomorrow for the new train from Bangalore-Chennai Central Express (22626) that will leave Bangalore at 2.40 pm and arrive in Chennai at 8.45 pm. Though the train was announced to be launched in the 2012-13 railway budget presented in March last year, there had been a delay in its launch.
The train which is scheduled to ply between Chennai and Bangalore from Thursday has a total of eleven coaches, all of which are air-conditioned. Passengers travelling on this train will be paying Rs. 470 for an AC chair.
Each coach will have a maximum occupancy of 120 passengers when compared to 73 on the Brindavan Express and 78 on the Shatabdi Express, said the railways. The train will be making a halt altogether at seven stops. The passengers will also be benefitted with train timings which had been designed in such a way that it could handle possibly spillover passengers from Brindavan Express.
The train halting at Krishnarajapuram will also be considered as an additional benefit, since many passengers will be getting down at this station on the outskirts of Bangalore.
