Ambala, Jan 2 (UNI) First woman loco pilot (train driver) Rajni of Haryana and posted in Ambala Railway Division died during delivery in the civil hospital Ambala. She gave birth to a female child early in the morning today after which her condition started deteriorating. She died while being taken to the trauma centre from maternity ward. While she was being taken to the trauma centre on strature , the oxygen cylinder which was being carried by two women workers was disconnected which created problem. On way Rajni went in semi conscious state and was asking to take care of her daughter. On hearing the news the residents of Railway Colony, Chanderpuri and Sundernagar were disappointed and gathered at the hospital in large number. Her condition then deteriorated and she collapsed before reaching trauma centre.
Meanwhile, the police in two gypsies reached hospital, the policemen instead of sympathising the family members of Rajni, misbehaved with her husband Shiv Shakti. The people expressed resentment over the police action. According to information, Rajni was admitted to hospital on December 29. The doctors after examining Rajni had suggested szarian delivery but Rajni had refused for it . On January 1, Rajni gave birth to a female child and she died after she suffered heart attack after two hours. Rajni had told that her father-in-law Subhash Chand had retired in December and her brotherin law was appointed loco pilot a few days back.
The Hief Medical Officer Dr Vinod Gupta said that the case had become complicated and the doctors from maternity and other departments had been directed to handle the case. But due tocomplications that had developed , Rajni died after she suffered heart attack. He said that an enquiry had been ordered by a board of medical experts. Meanwhile, the Health MinisterAnil Vij said that strict action would be taken against the erring staff if found negligent during the enquiry ordered by him.
