Central Railways has suspended two loco pilots, two assistant loco pilots, and one pointsman, ordered an inquiry against them after two cases of trains crossing red signals were reported.
In investigations, both loco pilots said the error happened because sunlight was reflecting off the signal pole, impairing their view of it.
The Mumbai Division of the Central Railways has suspended two loco pilots, two assistant loco pilots, and one pointsman, and ordered an inquiry against them after two cases of trains crossing red signals were reported on Friday at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus.
Sources said loco pilots Dinesh Kumar and Kundan Jambale; assistant loco pilot Shivesh Kumar and Sandip Wagh; and pointsman S Alwert were suspended pending further investigations. According to officials, Dinesh Kumar and his assistant crossed the red signal while driving an empty rake at LTT on Friday, and Jambale committed the same error the same day, while shunting an engine.
