Shri Akhil Agrawal, an officer of Indian Railway Service of Signal Engineers of 1979 batch, has taken over the charge of General Manager, Central Railway. Prior to joining as General Manager, Central Railway, he was Additional Member (Signal) in Railway Board.
After Graduating in Electronics & Communication Engineering from IIT / Roorkee he did his Post Graduation from IIT Kanpur. He joined Indian Railways as an Indian Railway Service of Signal Engineers (IRSSE) officer in 1981 and has held various important posts i.e. Executive Director (Telecom) / Railway Board, Divisional Railway Manager / Bangalore, Chief Signal &Telecom Engineer / South Eastern Railway and Northern Railway, and Chief Project Manager / Indian Railway Project Management Unit.
He has wide experience of management and construction of the Signaling assets besides General administration on Indian Railways.
He has travelled widely to various countries including Europe, Australia and North America.
