The private sector persons are crying that the Central Government employees are highly paid , the case is not true . A detailed study comparing the salary and emoluments of employees belonging to government and private sector is made by the IIM -Ahmedabad . The 7th CPC study, commissioned and later factored in by the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC), took a wide range of samples — doctors, engineers and accounts officers at higher levels, down to the skilled categories like MTS.

The following facts are to be considered:

1) A Government servant joins in Central Government Services and retires in Central Government Services. Whereas a person joins a private sector jumps from one company to another company in short spans.

2) The skill level required for the Central Government Services is “Skilled” labour at initial appointment, whereas in Private sector or in State Government it starts at “un skilled” labour.

3) The level of responsibility and accountability is more for the Central Government employees rather than the private employees.

4) No proper promotions in the Central Government Services , whereas in private sector they jump from one company to another company and get rewarded with higher pay and responsibility.
