THIS is the first video footage to emerge of a mystery crash which happened when an empty and driver less "runaway ghost train" set off from a station and slammed into another, full of passengers.

There was no one driving or on board the runaway "ghost train" as it hurtled into another one
Footage is featured from a number of different cameras facing inside and outside of both trains, showing the time just before and during the smash.
The vehicle became known as the "ghost train" after the bizarre happening, which saw it at one stage stop on the line and then start up again at speed before striking the other one.
In the film, passengers onboard the other train are seen to jolt and hit walls, poles, seats and the floor at the moment of impact.
They look clearly shocked and distressed and one man's mobile phone flies out of a doorway.

Amid the confusion some passengers exit, leaving behind bags and mobile phones.
No-one was seriously hurt but 30 people had minor injuries are suing the City of Chicago.
Most bizarrely, The video revealed the empty train made a complete stop just before speeding up again before impact.
The events unfolded on September 30, 2013, when the driverless and unoccupied four-car train started rolling out of the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) West Side rail yard.
