The South Western Railway (SWR) has displayed various types of high horse power locomotives and other related systems at its stall in the Pride of India expo, held  as a part of the 103rd Indian Science Congress organised by the University of Mysore  at Manasagangotri, in Mysuru. 

The expo was inaugurated by Shyamadhar Ram, Chief Motive Power Engineer, on  unday and will be open up to January 7.

The SWR has displayed photos of different types of locomotives, bio-diesel powered trains, diesel electrical multiple units (DEMUs) not only in India but also exported to Sri Lanka, electrical multiple units (EMUs), high capacity and speed stainless wagons, dual mode locomotives, WAP-7 of 6500 horse power locomotive with 140 kmph speed maintaining pollution-free green environment, green initiative emission test cars, air-conditioned metro coaches for Kolkata, Gottwald 140 tonne breakdown cranes, a model of WDP4 with 4000 horse power capacity loco, a model of LED colour light signal post and a model of eco-friendly bio-toilet (anaerobic system), a model of double-decker coach as well as the old aged steam locomotive remembering the steam era and others.

Besides, screening of the SWR’s corporate film showing running of various trains 
with different locomotives, functioning of bio-toilet system and operation of emergency window by the passengers, through LCD monitor continuously for public view.

Ghanshyam Verma, Deputy General Manager and CPRO, Suman Kumar Tanti, Senior Divisional Mechanical Engineer, Mysuru Division, and others were present.
