CHENNAI: More than 2,500 members of the Dakshin Railway Employee Union staged a protest at the Moore Market Complex in Chennai on Thursday morning placing a charter of demands including those related to their wages.
Union members from Chennai, Trivandrum, Palakkad, Madurai, Trichy and Salem division participated in the protest.
Some of their demands are: increase minimum salary to Rs 26,000, increase increment to 5%, raise HRA, cancel new pension scheme, and fill vacancies in central government departments.
