Technology based Training in Zonal Railway Training Institute (ZRTI) to Improve Professional Competence of Trainees - Shri Ravindra Gupta, General Manager, South Central Railway vows to make ZRTI the Best on the Indian Railways.

The Zonal Railway Training Institute, Moula Ali celebrated its 43rd Annual Day today (17.12.2015) at it premises. Shri Ranvindra Gupta, General Manager, SCR was the Chief Guest o­n the occasion. Shri J.N. Jha, Chief Operations Manager, SCR and Shri G. Laxminarayan, Chief Commercial Manager, SCR presided over the function. Several Principal Heads of Departments, Smt. Aruna Singh, Divisional Railway Manger/ Hyderabad Division, faculties and trainees attended the function in large number.

Addressing the audience, Shri Ravindra Gupta stated that the Zonal Railway Training Institute, Moula Ali is o­ne of the premier traffic training institutes of Indian Railways. Indian Railways is in the forefront of providing quality transportation to the nation and has become the backbone of the economy. He expressed his happiness ZRTI institute has developed the wherewithal and is fully ready to meet the training needs of the personnel of SCR.

Modern technology and Economic philosophy educates to provide cheap transport. Indian railways is moving parallel in this direction to reduce the unit cost of transportation and ensure high pay load capacity transportation of passenger and goods. This institute has taken lead to improve professional knowledge and competence, promote safety consciousness, and train the staff o­n importance of improving market share through quality customer service, the GM added.

Shri Ravindra Gupta further appreciated ZRTI for its new initiatives of developing INQUIZITIVE- a computer generated interactive Quiz o­n the operating and commercial subjects for the trainees; SAMCHITA- a trainee resource programme and a Simulator for station masters for getting o­n field exposure. The General Manager released a CD containing training material in animated format and annual training schedule of ZRTI for the year 2016.

Shri J.N. Jha, Chief Operations Manager, while addressing the gathering, said that ZRTI, through its excellent training programmes, was able to develop the trainees into a whole disciplined railway professionals who in turn contributed to the outstanding safety and operational performance of SCR. Shri G. Laxminarayana, Chief Commercial Manager, SCR, stated that apart from Human resource development, ZRTI plays a pivotal role in imparting essential soft skills such as positive attitude, customer care, courtesy and inter-personal communication to the trainees which goes a long way in ensuring satisfactory service delivery to the customers.

Shri Ramesh Babu, Principal, ZRTI,while presenting the annual report of the ZRTI, stated that ZRTI utilizes its resources fully so that the system gets maximum benefit. The utilization of the institute has been o­n an increasing trend with 79.2% in 2012-13 and 109.9% in 2013-14 and 107% in 2014-15. He informed that around 1000 newly selected Assistant Loco Pilots are expected to take training at ZRTI from February, 2016. Further he stated that during 2014, ZRTI conducted 110 training courses and trained 3500 railway personnel such as Asst. station Master. Shri Ravindra Gupta, GM / SCR handed over medals and Certificate of merit to the toppers in various training programmes.
