Shri Ravindra Gupta, General Manager, South Central Railway stressed up o­n the need to attain the best with regard to Safety and Punctuality, which indicates the efficiency of rail services and achieve passenger satisfaction. He was addressing a high level review meeting attended by senior officials of various departments of the Zone today i.e., 21stDecember, 2015, at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad. The review meeting also involved video conferencing with the Divisional Railway Managers of Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntur, Guntakal and Nanded Divisions. 

Detailing o­n the priorities for SCR, Shri Ravindra Gupta, made a strong point for ensuring the implementation of safety procedures without fail and evolving the system improvements in safety of train operations. He focussed mainly o­n safety inspections to be conducted o­n a regular basis, reviewed the safety related issues at Manned Level Crossings and Unmanned Level Crossings, Fire Safety Audit and seasonal weather conditions.

Punctuality was another major area which is pivotal in attaining passenger satisfaction, the General Manager emphasised. He instructed the concerned to evolve plans for smooth and punctual running of trains by means of regular monitoring and coordination with officials of other zones whenever necessary.

The high level meeting also focussed o­n issues concerning passenger amenities/facilities including extension of Cover over Platforms, provision of Train/Coach indication boards, Lifts, Escalators, drinking water facilities etc. The General Manager also sought that employee welfare issues including appointments o­n compassionate grounds shall be promptly looked into and addressed within specified time. 

Shri S.N. Singh, Additional General Manager and Pricipal Chief Engineer; Shri J.N. Jha, Chief Operations Manager, ; Shri G. Laxminarayan, Chief Commercial Manager Shri S.P. Sahu, Chief Safety Officer, SCR were present.
