Locomotive pilots blocked railway track on platform number one on Monday late night over beating of a driver by an assistant station master at Ahmedgarh. The blockade led to delay of Rewari-Ganganagar passenger train by three hours.
A large number of workers of staff employees staged a protest on the railway track and raised slogans against the officials. Agitated railway employees demanded suspension of the assistant station master of Ahmedgarh and registration of a criminal case against him.
After getting information, station superintendent Pardeep Sharma reached the spot and informed the DRM and control room regarding the issue.
Even passengers sitting inside the train had to face problem and even they also started raising slogans against railway department.
Driver in Ahmedgarh Dharam Singh had demanded rest from the assistant station master as he had been working continuously for the last more than 10 hours and he wanted to go on rest, but the ASM allegedly beat him up. The ASM even called people from outside to thrash him. Loco lobby accused that despite complaining to the senior officials of the railways, no action against the ASM was been taken.
Senior DME and DRM have assured them of action in this case soon
