Mr. Ganga Ram Agarwal, an officer of Indian Railway Services of Electrical Engineering (IRSEE), has been posted as the new Secretary, Railway Board.

He succeeds Mr. P.C.Gajbhiye, who superannuated yesterday.

Prior to this posting, Mr. Agarwal was working as Chief Electrical Engineer, Central Railway.

A graduate from IIT Roorkee, Mr. Agarwal did his Masters in Electrical Engineering from University of Applied Sciences, Darmstadt, Germany and joined IRSEE in 1981. He also did Masters of BusinessAdministration (MBA) in Finance Management.

Mr. Agarwal has worked in different capacities in Northern Railway, RDSO/Lucknow, Railway Board, North Western Railway, Western Railway and CentralRailway. He worked as Divisional Railway Manager, Jaipur Division of North Western Railway and as Chief Electrical Engineer of South Central Railway and Central Railway.
