FULL BOARD LED BY CHAIRMAN REVIEWS SER PERFORMANCE AT HIGH LEVEL MEETING HELD AT SER HEADQUARTES, GARDEN REACH

Kolkata, July 3, 2015:
Railway Full Board led by Shri A.K.Mital, Chairman, Railway Board & Ex-Officio Principal Secretary, Govt. of India held a high level Review Meeting with the General Manager, South Eastern Railway, Shri Radhey Shyam and all other Principal Head of the Departments to review and evaluate the performance of South Eastern Railway at the S.E.Railway’s Headquarters, Garden Reach this morning (3.7.2015).
Shi Mital reviewed the various key activities of S.E. Railway networking and laid special emphasis o­n Safety and Security of the passengers with special focus o­n passenger amenities including cleanliness and punctual running of trains. Chairman, Railway Board stressed o­n adhering to the safety norms by all railwaymen working in the field and instructed that more field inspections by officers should be carried out specially during night time. CRB, while reviewing the various projects of S.E.Railway, stressed o­n the speedy completion of the projects in a time frame manner. Elaborate discussion relating to other aspects viz. Safety, Punctuality, Freight Loading, Earnings, Critical Capacity Enhancement Projects, Mobility, Asset Failures were also held in the meeting.Members, Railway Board also exchanged their views and ideas to find ways and means for further improvement in the area of efficiency for a defined target.
Earlier, Shri Radhey Shyam, General Manager, South Eastern Railway while apprising the Chairman and other Members of Railway Board of different achievements and developments of this railway through his presentation, highlighted the efforts being made by South Eastern Railway to generate more revenue earnings from freight and passenger sectors and the initiative taken to complete all the projects in time.The punctuality of trains has improved over South Eastern Railway in the first three months of the current financial year as compared to the corresponding period of last year. The passengers’ complaints have been reduced over S.E.Railway due to bringing about system improvement, General Manager added.
The Members of Railway Board who were present in the Review Meeting included Shri Ajay Shukla, Member Traffic, Shri Pradeep Kumar, Member Staff, Shri V.K.Gupta, Member Engineering, Shri Navin Tandon, Member Electrical, Smt. Rajalakshmi Ravikumar, Financial Commissioner and Shri Hemant Kumar, Member Mechanicalalong with other Board officials.
