Six Rajdhani coaches gutted in fire at New Delhi station
Though several employees were on duty in the yard, nobody was injured in the incident that occurred when the coaches were parked on the washing lines.
Six coaches of two premium trains — the Bhubaneshwar and Sealdah
Rajdhanis — parked in the yard at New Delhi railway station were gutted
in a fire on Tuesday.
Though several employees were on duty in the yard, nobody was injured in
the incident that occurred when the coaches were parked on the washing
lines.
As a precautionary measure, officials said, power supply to OHE lines
was stopped that affected train operation from the city’s busiest
station for a while.
While the cause of fire is still to be ascertained, Northern Railway
General Manager has formed a committee of senior officials to probe the
incident, Northern Railway spokesperson Neeraj Sharma said.
