Soundara Pandyan

R. Soundara Pandian -  Leader of All India Loco Running Staff Association 

 

R. Soundara Pandian, was a retired Loco Pilot of Madurai Division, Southern Railway. He was born on 10-07-1935. Appointed as Loco Khalasi in the year of 1958. Retired as Loco Pilot in the year of 1993. From the date of his appointment to the date of  his last breath, thinks about the Running men. Ex General Secretary of All India Loco Running Staff Association, great legendary leader, relentless fighter against the injustices against Loco Running Staff,  live very simple, incomparable dedication, devotion and wisdom. Started serving  as office bearer of DREU, important role in leading Firemen Council and various portfolios in AILRSA. Married and had two sons and one daughter. Even after retirement fought for the number of struggles of various issues associating him with other trade unions.

                                                                                                                                                                                           

Com.Soundara Pandian passed away at 79 years of age on 28-12-2014 at 19.30 hrs. at Madurai in his house. It is a very big loss for not only the Running Staff but also to the Railway men and working class.

In the final twenty years of his life, he could done  continuous tremendous  work. Achieved the awards of “INTENSIVE” and “DP” cases.
