Commissioner of railway safety to probe Rajdhani derailment on June 28 & July 1
PATNA:
Commissioner of railway safety (CRS) of the eastern circle P K Vajpayee
will hold a two-day statutory probe on June 28 and July 1 to find out
the real cause behind derailment of New Delhi-Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express
(12236) on the outskirts of Chhapra on Wednesday. The CRS will hold
inquiry from 10.30am to 6pm on Friday and Saturday at DRM's office in
Sonepur.
Meanwhile, traffic movement on both up and down lines between Chhapra Kachri and Goldenganj was restored on Thursday. While the UP line was declared fit at 3.35am by the engineering department, the first goods train passed on the track at 6am on Thursday morning. However, the first passenger train Sealdah-Balia passed on the track on Thursday. Similarly, the down line was declared fit at 10.50am on Thursday while overhead electric (OHE) wire was restored on the down line at 11.40am. The first goods train passed on the track at 12.57pm while the passenger train New Delhi Barauni Vaishali Express passed on the track safely soon after passing of the goods train, ECR CPRO Arvind Rajak said.
