Sub: Revision of the rates of Allowance in lieu of Running room facilities, Shunting Duty Allowance, Trip
Allowance and Commercial duty Allowance pay able to the running staff with effect from 1-1-2011.


Ref: Board’s letter of even no. dated 1-10-2009.

After the promulgation of the Railway Services (Revised Pay) Rules, 2008, Board had issued letter of even no. dated 1-10-2009 deciding the rates of Allowance in lieu of Running room facilities, Shunting Duty Allowance, Trip Allowance and Commercial duty Allowance

2. Board has now decided that the rates which were laid down vide Board’s letter of even no. dated 01-10-2009 may be increased by 25% with effect from 01-01-2011. The other terms and conditions governing the grant of these allowances would remain unchanged.

3. This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways.

4. Please acknowledge receipt.
