Faizabad Exp derails, Rajdhani engine fails



MUMBAI: The Faizabad-LTT Express derailed near Asangaon on Friday evening, holding up services on the Central Railway. On the Western line, suburban services were hit after a failure in the engine of the August Kranti Rajdhani Express. The engine and one coach of the Faizabad-LTT Express derailed around 8pm. Till the time of going to press, the train was not put back on tracks. The CR spokesperson said, "There were no injuries and cause of derailment was not known." On WR, three trains were locked up in the path of the Rajdhani Express due to the locomotive failure in Dadar. The WR spokesperson said, "A snag developed in the engine of Rajdhani Express as soon as it reached Dadar. The train was held up for 20 minutes after which it was taken to Andheri from where it continued its journey with a new engine one-and-a-half-hour behind schedule." tnn
