Ayukta sleuths caught a retired railway officer red handed accepting
bribe of Rs 10,000 here on Tuesday morning. The accused official
demanded bribe from a girl for providing her a job as pharmacist in
railway board.
The
Lok Ayukta inspector Basant Shrivastava informed that Deputy Chief
Operating Manager of railway board Suresh Kumar Mehta stayed in Hotel
Shanti Palace located on Indore Road. He demanded bribe of Rs 10,000
from complainant Ashok Kumar Vasunia’s daughter for providing her a job
of pharmacist in railway board. Applicant girl has done B Pharma.
On the complaint made by Vasunia, Lok
Ayukta police approached at the hotel at 11.15 am on Tuesday and caught
corrupt railway officer Mehta from hotel’s room accepting bribe of Rs
10, 000.
Accused Mehta assured complainant’s
daughter for giving her a job of pharmacist which will earn Rs 40, 000.
He also demanded salary of first two years from applicant.
Mehta called applicant at the hotel for
giving him bribe. Mehta had retired from railway in December 2013. Lok
Ayukta registered a complaint against Mehta under Section 8 of IPC. Some
more names will be out in this case. Corrupt retired railway officer
