IRCTC App for Windows

IRCTC
joined hands with Microsoft and introduced an IRCTC app for booking tickets online. The app can be
used on phones, tablets and
personal computers that run on Windows
operating system. The app will open just with the touch of a hand
and there is no need to type the site name in the address bar.
Mumbai: Railway
train tickets are booked online through IRCTC website. It is possible to book
the ticket without going to the reservation counter and standin gin the
queues. Another application is now ready to book the tickets. IRCTC
app is specially designed for windows mobiles and personal computers.
Various
operating systems are offering several apps through their mobile operating
system stores. Some can be downloaded for free and for some apps, the
user has to pay nominal carge. IRCTC launched a new official app by
joining hands with Microsoft. Windows
mobile phone users can download the app from Microsoft store for
free.
When
the user wants to book a train ticket using IRCTC app, they need to type the
site name in address bar and search for the ticket. They just have to
touch the app to get the ticket booking menu. The user have to login with
email ID details. Ticket booking is easy though mobiles. Plan your trip option allows to plan
the entire tour. There is special mentu for checking the PNR status. Complete details
can be obtained in Booking history. Visual Maps displays the trail
routes. Check the availability of tickets before booking. The
details of passengers can be saved in just like contact list. Recent
history shown the details of recently booked tickets. IRCTC updates can
be known via ‘Live notiifcations’. There is cancellation menu for
cancelling the booked ticket. Payment for tickets can be done through mobile

It
is also possible to install the IRCTC applications in tablets, laptops or
personal computers that run on Windows
8 operating system. After installing the application generate the TPIN.
Create a profile with username and password. Home page will appear with Plan
you trip, Check PNR status, Cancellation, booking history, passenger info and Quick book boxes. Previous

Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has launched an official Windows Phone and Windows app. Users can down the app for free from the Windows Phone Store and Windows Store.

There were many such applications on Google Play, but was mostly needed on windows phone to check pnr status.
