The
High Power Committee (Running & Safety) headed by Shri
D.P.Tripathi, former Secretary to the Government of India, Ministry of
Food Processing has submitted its final report to Shri Arunendra Kumar,
Chairman, Railway Board. Other three Members of the Committee which was
constituted by the Ministry of Railways were Shri V.K.Manglik, former
General Manager, West Central Railway, Shri Amar Nath, former General
Manager, Chittaranjan Locomotive Works and Shri M. S. Khan, former
Additional Member/Budget, Railway Board,
The Committee was constituted to look into pending demands of Labour
Federation regarding working hours of Running Staff (Guards and Drivers)
and review of Safety Categories staff over Indian Railways. The
Committee conducted wide ranging consultation with Railway
Administrations, Federations and staff all over Indian Railways and
prepared a comprehensive report as per terms of reference. The Ministry
of Railways shall be examining the report for implementation of the
recommendations of the Committee.
