Khanna, May 21
A major tragedy was averted when an engine of a goods train caught fire. The train was stopped at the Khanna railway station as soon as the driver witnessed.

Yash Pal Gomi, fire officer, Khanna, said they got a call in the morning in this regard and they rushed to the spot. He said when they reached the spot they found big flames coming out from the engine. Firstly, we managed to separate the engine from the train and then we doused the fire. The whole operation took almost one and a half hour. The cause of fire could not be ascertained at that moment but mechanical fault in the engine cannot be ruled out. — OC
