Railway clerk threatens passenger
SURAT: Pritesh Randive, a senior executive with a public sector company, who had gone to book tickets at the ticket window on platform number 4 for his son and mother-in-law, who were visiting Ahmedabad on Friday, found himself on the receiving end of a booking clerk.
SURAT: Pritesh's son Seth, an under-9 state chess champion, was going to Ahmedabad for participating in the under-11 state chess championship organized on Saturday along with his grandmother.
Pritesh asked for two first class tickets, but the booking clerk issued only one.
When Pritesh inquired as how the mistake happened, the booking clerk entered into heated arguments with him. In the middle of the arguments, he (booking clerk) came out of his cabin wielding a wooden stick and threatened Pritesh.
"We were shell shocked on seeing the booking clerk coming out of the cabin wielding a wooden stick. He literally tried to hit me, but some passengers standing in the queue intervened.
"I have registered a complaint with the booking supervisor," said Pritesh.
When TOI contacted, Ganesh Jadav, chief commercial inspector, he said, "It was an unfortunate incident."
"The booking clerk can't behave like this and that too threaten a passenger with a wooden stick. The booking clerk will be punished as per the law."
