Top railway union leader faces graft charges
NAGPUR:
Close on the heels of South East Central Railway dismissing Sameer
Lawrence, brother of Salil Lawrence, a top leader of South East Central
Railway Men's Union (SECRMU), the railways on Thursday issued a
chargesheet against the leader himself for misusing privilege passes.
Lawrence, who is a senior passenger guard with SECR at Nagpur but stays in Bilaspur, has been charged with misusing privilege passes in 2009. He is eligible for three passes in a year but he availed four. The other charges slapped against Lawrence include violating railway rules, lack of integrity and conduct unbecoming of a public servant.
