Electric locomotive with `Amul' branding inaugurated

VADODARA: The first electric locomotive (engine) of Railways under Vadodara division with `Amul' branding was inaugurated on Monday.

Western Railway's Vadodara Division had entered into an agreement with Anand-based Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd (GCMMFL), that markets brand Amul, for branding of electric locomotives.
Under the pact, Railway would advertise brand `Amul' on these locomotives by way of PU painting. This will generate Rs 36 lakh revenue to Railways, officials said. Around 175 locomotives were to be covered of which 20 would be done in the first phase.
Today the first such locomotive was inaugurated here in the presence of Mahesh Kumar, General Manager, Western Railway and K M Jhala, Chief General Manager, GCMMFL, among others.
