·         Train mishaps declined consistently: govt
New Delhi, Nov 30 (PTI) Train mishaps have "consistently declined" and have come down to 77 in 2011-12 from 335 in 2001-02 barring the ones at unmanned level crossings, the government said today.


Train accidents such as collision, derailments, manned level crossing accidents, fire in trains have declined from 335 in 2001-02...and further to 77 in 2011-12," Minister of State for Railways K J S Prakash Reddy said in a written reply in Rajya Sabha today.
