Southern Railway AGM opens RO at Tiruchi running room

G. Narayanan, Additional General Manager, Southern Railway, on Saturday inspected the running room at the Tiruchi junction. He inaugurated a reverse osmosis plant installed there.
The 80-bed running room, where the train crew take rest after completing their stipulated duty, is one among the five best running rooms selected by the railway board.
The running room was given a facelift with additional facilities including a new reading room with quality furniture and mini library equipped with magazines, safety related bulletins, and technical reading material.
Water heater has been provided in the kitchen for washing utensils and solar water heater in the bathrooms. Washing machines, iron box, and ironing table have also been provided.
In order to get a first hand idea of their general healthiness, weighing scale, height chart, and body mass index chart have been given to the recreation room. Recreational facilities like carrom board, and chess board are also available.
A meditation hall with pleasant environment is another attractive feature of the running room.
P.V. Vaidialingam, Divisional Railway Manager, explained the salient features of the running room to Mr. Narayanan.
S. A. Abdul Rahman, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, and G. Chandraseharan, Senior Divisional Mechanical Engineer were present.
