New facilities for rail passengers
At the City Railway Station, five new Deluxe AC retiring
rooms with modern facilities like LCD TV, cushioned beds and modern toilets,
are available.
A new coupon system at the passenger reservation counter was
also launched. Passengers, including Tatkal travellers, will be given coupons
and the tickets will be reserved accordingly.
This will save time as they do not have to stand in long
queues for hours, the officials said.
A new exit, a vast parking area, a new concourse, five new
booking counters and a shelter on Platform 1 were also inaugurated on the
market side of Yeshwantpur station.
Although it is congested outside the market area, the
boundary wall of the station at the approach side has been opened at one end
and the roads are laid inside the boundary wall for smooth movement of the
traffic. New exit has been provided for the vehicles to go out.
‘State Not Neglected in Budget’
Speaking on the occasion, Muniyappa said Karnataka has
not been neglected in the current Railway Budget. He called for people to make
use of the facilities extended by Railways. Divisional Railway Manager S Mani,
Executive Director for Public Grievances of the Railway Board, New Delhi, N C
Goyal and others were present on the occasion.
